Stories of impact

We believe in creating equitable and authentic representation of women worldwide

Asma’s story

Asma, a 13-year-old girl from Bangladesh, inspired us to launch the Girls Global Education Fund. In Pooja Khati’s short film Asma, audiences met the determined girl working 18 hours a day in her father’s tea stand. She spoke passionately about her dream of completing her education. Now Asma is realizing that dream through our education fund.

Edna’s story

When she returned to her native Somaliland after a career with the World Health Organization, Edna Adan found the newly independent country in disarray, its health care system destroyed by the civil war with Somalia. She built the Edna Adan Maternity Hospital, where her dedicated staff has saved the lives of countless women and babies.
